Join oral health advocates from around the state and country for the 2017 Oral Health Policy Conference, featuring cutting-edge presentations by national speakers, Oral Health Champion Awards, networking, exhibitors, reception, and the best in oral health policy discussion.  Below is the current agenda for the conference.  

  • Thursday, March 9 

    • Noon - Keynote Address - Mary Foley, RDH, MPH, Executive Director, Medicaid Medicare CHIP Dental Services Association

    • 1 PM - Oral Health Champion Awards & Board Chair Recognition Awards

    • 1:45 PM - Mary Otto, health journalist – Deamonte Driver and Oral Health Policy – Ms. Otto will be available to sign her book – Teeth: The Story of Beauty, Inequality, and the Struggle for Oral Health in America – provided to all attendees prior to publication date - thanks to REACH Healthcare Foundation

    • 3 PM - Emergency Room Diversion Panel - facilitated by Leslie Porth, Missouri Hospital Association with Amy Kelsey, Dr. Suter, Dr. Jurkovich and Dr. Pfannenstiel

    • 4:30 PM - George Gotto, PhD – Improving Oral Health Care for People with Disabilities

    • 5 PM - Amy Blouin, Executive Director, Missouri Budget Project – The Importance of Medicaid for Missouri

    • 5:30 – 7:30 PM – Reception featuring the Lincoln University Jazz Ensemble

    • 6:30 PM – Coalition Board Meeting – featuring an update from Dr. John Dane, Missouri Dental Director


  • Friday, March 10

    • 6:30 – 8 AM – Breakfast and Discussion Groups on Oral Health 2020 Goals - see Oral Health 2020 – Set future direction while interacting with fellow Coalition members!

    • 8 AM - Matt Crespin, MPH, RDH – Using Policy to Improve Oral Health

    • 9:15 - Alejandra Valencia, DDS, MPH, MS, Project Director, Oral Health Forum, Heartland Alliance - Maximizing Connections that Impact Oral Health Status

    • 10:30 AM - Patrick Finnerty, DentaQuest Foundation/PWF Consulting – Potential New Financing Models for Medicaid

    • 11:45 AM - Tara Harper, Associate Director of Advancement, Oral Health America -  Oral Health and Medicare: Where Are We Now?
