Women’s Health Services Attestations Due Friday

Missouri’s Extended Women’s Health Services program covers family planning-related services, pregnancy testing, and sexually transmitted disease testing and treatment for uninsured women ages 18 to 55 under 201% FPL. The Medicaid Eligibility (ME) code is 80/89.

Last year, the budget passed by the General Assembly included language barring these funds from being paid to entities that provide abortions. Organizations equipped to provide abortion services were sent an attestation from the Department of Social Services allowing them to indicate they do not provide abortion services, if they do not. If your clinic received an attestation, this must be submitted to the department to continue payments under the program. The deadline for the department to receive these attestations has been updated to Friday, March 3.

To ensure payments for these services are not interrupted, providers that received attestations must submit them by Friday, March 3 at 5:00 pm.

Providers that submit attestations after this deadline will have to resubmit any denied claims once they have an attestation on file.

You can read more about the attestation process here. If you have any questions, please contact Jessica Dresner with the Department of Social Services at 573-751-3399 or jessica.dresner@dss.mo.gov.
