2017 Updates to RHC Medicare Policies

CMS has updated the Medicare Benefit Policy Manual chapter on Rural Health Clinics to reflect changes in requirements and payment policies for 2017. The key revised areas include:

• Section 110.3: Clarifies information on payment for Graduate Medical Education in RHCs.

• Section 110.4: Services furnished by auxiliary personnel incident to a TCM visit may be furnished under general supervision.

• Section 110.5: Services furnished by auxiliary personnel incident to a CCM visit may be furnished under general supervision.

• Section 130.3: Removes payment restriction for an RHC owned by a physician assistant.

• Section 180: Includes speech-language pathology services.
