Missouri Prompt Pay Law
Missouri law requires insurers to pay or deny claims within 45 processing days of receiving them. Plans that fail to meet this timetable owe the claimant interest and a penalty. You can view the full text of Missouri's prompt pay law here.
MARHC has developed a guide explaining the prompt pay law and outlining steps clinics can take to address delayed payments. Members can access the resource guide here.
During the Missouri General Assembly's session, MARHC hosts legislative update conference calls every three weeks, presented by David Winton with Penman & Winton Consulting Group - MARHC's professional representation in the Missouri Capitol.
All current MARHC members are invited to participate in the updates, which include information on legislative proposals that may affect rural health clinics.
For additional information, please contact the MARHC office.
